Lee's effects minimal in Assumption, Lower St. Martin
According to Maj. Ginny Higgins of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's office, one home on Stephensville Road suffered minor damage when a tree fell on it while one lane of La. 70 near Higher Ground Bible Fellowship was closed due to high water. That lane has since reopened.
Higgins said she didn't know how much rain the area received.
She said sporadic power outages occurred in the area, too.
In Assumption Parish, Office of Emergency Preparedness Director John Boudreaux said no flooding in homes was reported in Bayou L'Ourse, although minor street flooding and flooding in yards were reported for a limited time.
He said no power outages occurred in the Bayou L'Ourse area, but 300 occurred parishwide, some attributed to tree limbs falling on power lines. Most outages, he said, were restored pretty quickly.
Boudreaux also reported tree limbs present on roads, but none of the felled limbs caused serious issues.
As for rain, he wasn't sure what Bayou L'Ourse received, but he said about 10 inches was recorded on a rain gauge in Napoleonville. Of that, 2.5 inches was recorded Friday, 5.5 inches on Saturday and about 1.5 inches on Sunday.
