Devon trio's headline shows edge out My Chemical Romance and The Midnight Beast

Muse have been voted the winner of NME's poll of the best performance at this summer's Reading and Leeds Festivals.

The Devon trio, who headlined the event with a set that featured them playing their 2001 second album 'Origin Of Symmetry' from start to finish, scored an average score of 7.87 in the poll, which saw over 800,000 votes cast.

My Chemical Romance came a close second with their own headline set, scoring an average of 7.75. The Midnight Beast weren't far behind, ending up in third spot with an average score of 7.49.

30 Seconds To Mars came fourth with 6.69, while The Strokes finished fifth with 6.47. Two Door Cinema Club and Cage The Elephant followed in sixth and seventh with 6.29 and 6.12 respectively, while Panic! At The Disco ended up in eighth with 6.09.

Pulp finished ninth with 5.98 and The Vaccines rounded off the top ten with 5.83. The Horrors, Bombay Bicycle Club, Friendly Fires and Elbow all narrowly missed out on the top ten.
