Nicki Minaj gently reminded the music world that she doesn't intend to give up her spot in the hip-hop game anytime soon with her new video.

In the clip for "Fly," the FeMC strolls along in an airplane junkyard to drive home the point that she'll always fly high. Nicki, who won big at the 2011 Video Music Awars on Sunday, recruited a subdued Rihanna for the video, which you watch below.

Fantasia leaves bed rest for beauty salon

Fantasia Barrino might be on bed rest, but her hair isn't. The singer, who recently revealed that she's pregnant, decided to take a trip to the salon to get her tresses in order.

Mariah Carey's 'X Factor' deal finalized

It's a done deal: Mariah Carey will be  Simon Cowell's American version of "X Factor."

SingersRoom.com  reports that she has offically joined the cast a celebrity judge. It's not clear how the size of her role will differ from that of the regular judges such as L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul, however.

Mariah's hubby Nick Cannon confirmed the news, stating, "Now it's official. I still don't know what she's doing, but she's doing something! She's ready... she's excited!"

Stevie Wonder wants blind to 'see' MLK memorial

Stevie Wonder won't led the blind miss their opportunity to take in the newest monument in Washington, D.C.

The singer announced last week that his Wonder Foundation will donate $10,000 a year to let the vision impaired tough the face of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.

"Through the Wonder Foundation, I commit $10,000 a year that will allow as many people that are blind to go up in the cherry picker (crane) to see this," he said Wednesday during an event for Dedication Week.

Andre Braugher returns to crime

Andre Braugher is no stranger to crime shows, having made a name for himself on NBC's "Homicide Life on the Street," and he may be returning to that genre.
 
After co-starring on "Men of a Certain Age" for three seasons, Andre is in talks to take on a recurring role in "Law & Order: SVU." According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy nominee would play a romantic interest for Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson character.
 
The new season starts September 21, and it's promising to be a star-studded one with Carmelo Anthony, Heavy D and Mehcad Brooks among the season's guest stars.
