A Combo-Vacation in Ocean City, NJ and Belleplain State Forest: Part 1 of 2 - Associated Content from Yahoo! on Astini News

My husband's family has a long tradition of vacationing in Ocean City, New Jersey. Today, his family carries on this Philadelphian past-time with the addition of seven grandchildren, ranging from ages four to twelve years old. Luckily, Ocean City offers entertainment, relaxation, and exercise for kids of all ages and their adults. If you are staying in Ocean City, you might be lucky enough to know someone who has a house down there who will share it with you. You can also rent a house or condo or stay in a hotel. The second part of this article focuses on an unusual type of lodging, the yurt, which we found in Belleplain State Forest. But first, let's check out what Ocean City has to offer.

The ever-rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean provide the perfect sound track for beach bumming. These waves also provide rides that can range from relaxing to thrilling, depending on which wave you choose or which wave chooses you. Either way, the cool water is a refreshing respite from the hot sand and the seagulls that dive bomb beach time snacks. Body surfing and boogie boarding are fun to do and watch. Perfecting your technique is a fine goal for a day at the beach. A note about New Jersey beaches, you're going to need beach tags. These fees are reasonable considering that they go towards keeping New Jersey beaches clean and safe. If you are in for a bit of fishing, you can find calmer waters along Great Egg Harbor Bay or "The Bay". Stopping at Wawa for a sandwich, some frozen squid bits, and hand wipes are the perfect ingredients for a fishing picnic along the bay.
