College football: Baune scores three TDs as Cobbers prevail | INFORUM on Astini News

STORM LAKE, Iowa – Concordia College stormed out to a 21-0 lead behind three first-half touchdowns by Brett Baune en route to a 35-14 victory against Buena Vista in nonconference college football Saturday.

Buena Vista scored a pair of touchdowns in less than a minute to cut the Cobbers' lead to 21-14 early in the fourth quarter. But the Cobbers answered with a 58-yard touchdown run by Trent Johnson.

On the ensuing Buena Vista drive, Bryce Hentges ran back an interception for a touchdown for the Cobbers to put the game away.

Johnson led the Cobbers (2-0) with 151 yards rushing and added a fourth-quarter touchdown, while Baune finished with 66 yards on 18 carries.

The Cobbers' run defense was stout, holding Buena Vista to 14 yards rushing on 19 carries.
