Casino Royale Gala Marks 25th Anniversary of Grace Hudson Museum on Astini News

UKIAH, Calif., Sep 15, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --& 2011 marks the 25 year anniversary of Ukiah's renowned Grace Hudson & Museum, which opened its doors to the public in October, 1986. The & occasion will be marked on Saturday, October 1, with a gala dinner and & auction followed by an evening "Casino Royale." For this one night only, & the Museum's main gallery will be turned into a glamorous nightspot, & featuring blackjack, roulette, and poker games. Beginning with cocktails & at 5:30pm and ending at 11pm, the evening's entertainments include & dinner, live and silent auctions, a raffle, casino games, and a & diversity of prizes. Tickets for the entire evening are $60 per person & and tickets for the casino games alone are $30, with the doors opening & for gaming at 8:00pm. This is the Museum's primary fundraiser, and the & money raised over the course of the evening makes possible the Museum's & on-going series of outstanding and varied exhibitions, with their & associated educational programs.&

Live auction lots include, among others, a California Indian native & foods dinner at the John Woolley Ranch prepared by Museum Director & Sherrie Smith-Ferri and friends; a BBQ for 20 at the famously hospitable & Chase Ranch; a cabin on the Mendocino coast at Albion Station with & dinner at the Stanford Inn's Raven's Restaurant; a stay at a Blue Lakes & cabin, an original Tommy Thornhill landscape painting, and more.&

The raffle prize, courtesy of Poma TV of Ukiah, is a 42" Panasonic & plasma TV. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10 and six for $20, and are & available at the Museum and from Guild Board members before and during & the event.&

This & partnership, along with the Hudsons' visual and written chronicle of & Pomo life embodied in The Sun House and the Museum collections, provided & the foundation for the Museum's recent significant grant which will & allow us to fully develop the Museum grounds and increase our & educational outreach over the next few years.
